During a video conference with his Swedish counterpart, Foreign Minister affirms Egypt's aspiration to further bolster cooperation with Sweden

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry held a video conference meeting on March 17, 2021 with Foreign Minister of Sweden Ann Linde, during which they discussed further strengthening of bilateral relations between Egypt and Sweden in all fields, and means to advance them towards broader horizons. They also consulted on the overall situation in the Middle East.


Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, stated that the two ministers affirmed their keenness to promote joint work and continue to enhance the path of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, with a special focus on renewable energy, digital transformation, and infrastructure. In this context, Shoukry and Linde asserted the importance of continuing political consultations in order to coordinate positions on regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially matters related to the United Nations, human rights, and development.

 

The meeting also addressed the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as ways to tackle them in a manner that necessitates concerted international efforts in this regard.
